True story. Sutherland did in fact try to play Sam Kieffers’s wingman to try to impress me, despite clarifying that we weren’t there together and showing him my engagement ring seconds earlier.
It should be noted that while he was very friendly and polite in declining to take a photo with my fancy camera, the most important fact is that Sutherland looked amazing in that post-Emmy’s tux, playing pool with a cigarette lazily hanging from his mouth.
He looked like a goddamn perfectly staged Vanity Fair photo.
