you won't believe it
So I was sitting at my desk waiting for the guys installing the overhead door at work to finish their last adjustments so I could lock up when….
I hear tires screeching and all of a sudden the wall shudders with a large bang right next to me. Scared like hell i instinctively rip all of the plugs out of my laptop and grab it and run out of my office. I look outside and see an SUV has jumped the curb in our parking lot and hit the Fire Sprinkler stand right outside my office. Water was spewing outside and the woman driving the SUV was trying to back it away from the building with no luck. In her French accent with her teenage son in tow she asks me to call 911.
She was trying to turn around in our parking lot but was not familiar with driving (get this) automatic cars (because “we don’t have those in France”) She thought the SUV was in reverse. when it started going forward she inadvertently hit the gas instead the brakes. Her plates were from the Consul’s office so who knows what the hell this was, but seriously do I need to make a joke here????
No one was hurt thankfully but the sprinkler system is shut down in the office. I had to move all of the equipment (computers and other electrical stuff away from the wall. The The fire department shut down the sprinkler system. Hopefully no further damage but I left the office with water spraying out of the pipe outside.
