Weekend Notes.
- “It’s just like Romeo & Juliet!” – Patron, after watching West Side Story
- Encountered a real life version of effeminate child from Curb.
- Said child (about 9 years old) proclaimed he had a headache and asked for aspirin, while rubbing his temples. My immediate thought was whether or not he got it from doing his taxes.
- Said child watched the movie version of West Side Story prior to attending performance for “inspiration”.
On a sadder note. Found out another woman I worked with died. In all fairness, she was in her late 80s, but she was the sweet lady to the very end. The kind of lady you just wanted to hug.
- When I started working there at 18, I was antisocially quiet and extremely self deprecating, so when she told me I was pretty, I immediately shot that down. She bluntly told me “Honey, shut up and accept a compliment.” (I now begrudgingly say thank you…)
- Helen and her husband Homer were high school sweethearts back in Oklahoma, she waited for him even as he was a WWII POW.
- They have and always will be the very example of what I can only hope I have in a relationship.
