Thanks to the folks who encouraged me to seek a second opinion.
I went to a rheumatologist (autoimmune specialist) on Monday. Based on my symptoms, he confirmed I have something called Sjogren’s Syndrome, it causes dry eyes and perpetual cotton mouth, which definitively explains the insane amount of cavities I have. So after I return from Michigan, I have to go back to the dentist, see an opthamologist and back to the rheumy to find out the results of my blood tests.
The good news is despite this whole mess, he’s pretty confident I can feel better. So for the first time, I’m hopeful I can feel some level of normality again.
I’m now on day 1 of a prescription toothpaste from my dentist, Evoxac to help my mouth glands to produce saliva and Planequil which will slow the production of these destructive antibodies inside me. Oh and top of that, vitamins B-Complex, Biotin, Flaxseed Oil and Omega3s.
This cocktail of drugs I’ve taken today has made me feel a tingly sensation all over, particularly in my belly. I’m not sure if I like it or not yet.
